Conklin Nozac Piston Fountain Pen, Toledo Red
Conklin’s original Nozac (‘no sac’) piston-filling fountain pen was first produced in 1931, but had disappeared from the market by 1938. It was advertised as the pen that winds like a watch, as the end button was turned in order to draw ink up into the pen.
Â
It hasn’t actually changed much in terms of mechanics, but Conklin has used modern technology and production methods to create a pen that is stylish in its simplicity, with beautiful marble-effect barrel finishes.
The Toledo Red barrel features shades of pearlescent dark red, maroon, blue and grey, and is stamped Conklin Nozac – Made in Italy. Chrome-plated grip area, cap and barrel ends. Cap features a magnetic closure. Chrome-plated rocker pocket clip is inscribed with ‘Conklin’. Twist the end of the barrel anti-clockwise in order to empty, and then draw up ink by turning clockwise.
